Who are Blackbird Coffee?

Blackbird Coffee is a family run business in the Midlands, selling the finest coffee, the purest of teas, the richest hot chocolate and glasses of fizz! The instructed us to convert one of our Piaggio Apé Classics to sell artisan coffee from the side and cold fix and beer from the back.

Serving a full menu of hot drinks, their 100% aribica coffee is hand roasted by Stewarts of Trent Bridge, Nottingham. They also serve pure Ceylon Tea in 6 delicious flavours and a luxury hot chocolate by Van Houten from Amsterdam.

How would you describe the story?

We are a family run business based in the heart of the midlands. Blackbird Coffee was a brand new venture for us – David, Louise & Ruby.

Having worked in the service sector and retail industry for many years, we wondered if we could pool our business experience and start out on our own. We’ve always had a special love affair with all things coffee, a strong passion for the perfect cup of tea, a taste for the finest hot chocolate and who doesn’t like sharing life successes with the odd glass of fizz!

Following the birth of our beautiful daughter Ruby we knew the time was right to think differently about our future and consider our options for a better family life….

What did Blackbird Coffee want to achieve?

First thought about in 2018, Blackbird Coffee Ltd originated as a new year’s resolution to change the way they lived. The philosophy in life was to be happy, to keep things simple but with a hint of sophistication thrown in.

In short, they wanted to build the brand on who they are and what they do best. They set out to offer an amazing product, maintain a fantastic service, have some fun and aspire to make customers smile….

Why did you choose The Big Coffee?

I’ve recently taken possession of my hand crafted 400E Classic Ape serving coffee & hot drinks on the side and Prosecco, Frizzante and beer from the rear. Throughout my journey, everyone at The Big Coffee has & continues to be incredible.

The service, advice and the quality of the teams workmanship is 1st class and I can’t thank the entire crew enough for all their hard work and due diligence to create what is quite simply a work of art.

I’ve had so much positive interest and incredible feedback from my Ape and we’re hoping for a fabulous summer of market trading, summer balls, outdoor theatre and private hire. Many, many thanks again all, you’re a great team offering a brilliant product that people simply adore….

What The Big Coffee have to say...

In 2018, David contacted us on the back of a New Years Resolution to start living their best life. They wanted to offer products they believed in, the best coffee they could find, the best selection of teas and luxury hot chocolate. As well as their hot drinks offering, they wanted to offer cold fix and beer from the back of a conversion.

Our Apé Classic was perfect for the multiple use idea. it offers the flexibility they needed to facilitate all offerings with a non ‘stand-in’ unit.

Six months after initial contact, we delivered their Piaggio Apé Classic and it’s safe to say, they were thrilled!
