There’s light at the end of the tunnel – and the future is Mobile Catering..!

This time last year we had all battened down the hatches and were feeling a sense of trepidation about the future – no matter what business or industry we were involved in.

None felt the effect more than the food and beverage sector. Coffee shops, pubs and restaurants were ordered to close their doors and we all entered a kind of hibernation. All was doom and gloom and we wondered if life would ever be the same again. Then, encouraging things stared to happen! The phone began to ring! The ever resourceful British public were calling with new Covid-beating ideas for delivering their customers’ daily fix – whether it be a flat white or gourmet beef burger – the green shoots of change had begun to appear.

One such example of fresh thinking ingenuity was Café Indie, based in the coastal town of Scunthorpe. Café Indie is a cafe, music venue and social project on Scunthorpe’s high street. They are a not-for-profit enterprise, providing work experience, training and youth work support to young people aged 16-25. Their cafe is staffed by young volunteers, giving them the chance to develop job skills and improve their prospects.

Café Indie contacted us to take a look at our Airstream catering trailer. This is a super cool, multi-purpose street food trailer, giving to any vendor the wow factor – curb appeal is built in as standard! Their Airstream was finished in mirror-finish stainless steel and a partial wrap was added to tie in seamlessly with Café Indie’s existing branding. The result, as you will see in the pictures, is breath-taking. We included a dual fuel coffee machine package using the Fracino Contempo LPG espresso machine, delivering incredible quality barista coffee anywhere you pitch up. A LPG / wood fired pizza oven was added to boost sales from the Airstream. What could be a better combo? Italian inspired pizza’s with a freshly made cappuccino or latte…!!

Some customers call expecting our flagship Airstream to be expensive and above their budget; costing between £24,995 – £30,000 it is often less pricey than they think. It offers a good amount of workable space inside; up to three people are easily able to fit in there. Some recent uses include a mobile coffee and bar set up, mobile street food Burger Trailer and a Mobile Pizza Airstream.

After nearly 20 years working in the Mobile F&B sector, dare we say it – we think the future looks rosy…!!!
